Sometimes just shutting the printer off and turning it on several times will work. There is a reset utility that I have used. What epson is it? I have used generics with epsons for 15 years. On a rare occasion I do get a bad cartridge.

When this happened with my printer I checked with the Instruction book. It said clean the print nozzles and gave instructions on how to do it. You could try that. If you haven’t got an instruction book, look it up on the internet, starting with the manufacturer’s name and the printer number.
