Should I buy one 1TB or two 500GB external hard drives? I want to buy a big hard drive to store my data, including home video clips. How often can a hard drive go wrong? Should I buy one big hard drive, or should I buy two smaller ones? Thank you.
The LG HXD2U32PL XD2 or the Western Digital My Passport Essential 320GB USB Portable External Hard Drive. Both are 320gb and apparrently have the same transfer rate. >So which is better? >Are they quicker with lots of small files or bigger files? >Which is most reliable? >And can you run programs off them? Thanks.
Do all 1TB external hard drives need a power supply? All the 1TB hard drives I looked at – Seagate and Iomega – have an AC adapter. Is a 500GB hard drive different, in that they don’t need a power supply?
For defragging purposes it only recognises my internal drive, it will recognise my external drives but only for cleaning up or detecting duplicate files Thanks.
I have two external hard drives, one a maxtor and the other a toshiba. What i wish to know is how do i set them up so that they have a password setting to gain access and cannot be accessed by anyone who doesnt have the password please.
