When I somtimes start my computer and its about to log into the user accounts I get a blue screen saying the following message,

“A problem has been detected and windows has been shutdown to prevent damage to your computer”

Then its got more stuff and at the bottom it says

Beginning dump of physical memory to disk, and it has a number on the side that goes up like seconds.

I know I have a memory problem but is there anyhow I can fix this problem. Im using XP at momment.

You need to display the entire message. Typically, there is a hex number or error code that will give you more information.

Typically it is an OS or RAM issue. You can either reinstall windows or try replacing your memory.

Over Christmas, I bought an inexpensive camera, and it took terrible pictures. When I exchanged it, the salesman told me that was because it only had a certain type of zoom, and now I can’t remember which one to have. I thought some of them had optical and digital, but now I’m not sure.

Question by schming2005: Advent laptop just went Kaput. Any hope?
It was working fine and then just stopped. Went totally dead. We thought it might be the charge so we looked at the charger and saw that the little light on it was flickering which is odd. Then at the rate of the flickering of the light we heard an electrical sparking coming off the metal fan housing and saw some sparks come out of the side of the computer from it and a funny smell.
Needless to say, it still doesn’t work. I can retrieve my hard disk and all that but is there any hope for the laptop? If not any good deals out there at the moment?

i read that i needed a recovery disk once i reset it, but the thing is, my computer didnt come with any disk. Its was made from a computer which buys parts and puts them together. I dont think they make there own recovery disks.

The only thing i have is the windows vista 32 bit install disk. If i reset my hard drive. Will it be able to load from this? as it worked last time but i dont know if they had already turned it on and installed something through the start up thing?

ok basicly my question is, if i do format my computer and there are no drivers. will the computer still boot up at normal i can i just install them once my computers running?

in RUN type dxdiag and get all the information of your system. Or download Belarc Advisor ( its free) and run and save the system summary or print it. Then you have all the information of your system and download all the drivers from the internet and end do what you want ?
