Question by Pαяιѕιαη Sкιeѕ♥: Teens: How old was you when you first got your own computer/laptop?
My dad first got a computer when l was about 13. He didn’t trust me to have my own so we both shared and it was also in the front room so he watches what l am doing half of the time. Then he bought me a laptop for my 17th. l was talking him to about needing one to do my college assignments and stuff, and he said it was about time l got my own one any way so he bought me one for my birthday 
Had it for about a year now!

I got my first computer when i was about eight or nine…it was my brothers old computer. Then i got my first laptop when i was about 10 or 11 (whatever grade i was in when i was in 5th grade)
Hang on and let me put my teeth in, That’s better. How old was I when I got my first PC? Let me see, I am 87 now so I must have been 72, Yup, that’s right I was 72. I call it my old piano cos that’s what it reminds me of. As soon as I learn how to turn the bloody thing on then I am going to start using it.

I was about 30 but my brother had one when he was about 14. I was 17 then. They were really complicated. He used to buy magazines and had to type the programs in himself. It took hours and they didn’t always work.
I was 11. I still have it and use it.
I was 12, but it wasn’t a very good one, and it was secondhand. It had always had problems until one day it just completely wouldn’t work altogether.
Lastyear, when I was 15, I bought my own laptop. I earned the money all summer, and now I have a great laptop. It’s a gateway. I love it all the more because I put time into earning it, I respect it so much more than I would have had I just received it.
I got my first one when i was like 8 it was big Time desktop with windows 98 which later got Windows XP Office. Massive screen proper old and i drew on it and stuck stickers to it.. I kept it clean though.. I wanted it for gaming and making powerpoints and paint lol. I didn’t have internet. I got rid of it 3 years ago.

Desktop – Around eight.
Laptop – Thirteen.
12 it was a present from my nan and granddad
16, so I could take my laptop on vacation with me. I had to spend my own money that I got for my sweet 16.
I started using my dad’s small McIntosh when I was 12ish I used it to play Tetris and to write. I got my own one at age 15, to do homework and used Messenger and MSn chatrooms which was all the rage at the time.
well, I’ve had my laptop for a year now , soo I got it when I just turned 14
When I was like 9 or 10 my grandpa bought me one.
When I was 7, but it had no internet or anything. That’s where my master-skill at Solitaire came from XD I have gotten the proper computer+internet at 11.
My first own laptop was at 14.
I’m 17 and still never had my own computer.
I don’t mind though, I have my phone and I can do a lot of stuff on my smart phone
Erm, got my first computer when I was about 6 or 7, and got my first laptop at about 8 I think…
My dad worked with computers, and just kepy buying them haha.
My grandma gave me an old one from her work when I was about 13 as well. It didn’t have internet, so I mostly just used it to write. I got my first laptop last year, when I was 18.
I was 13 when I got my first laptop. Then like within the year I got my own desktop. Then two Christmases ago I got another desktop. Before I was 13 I just shared with my parents. I’m on the computer a lot and I’m a techie geek, haha.
Well I first got my own hand-me-down laptop when i was 9 but it didn’t have internet connection. When i was 10-11 i got my own computer, and then where i live, in 7th grade we get laptops if we go to public school.

I got my 1st one when I was in school. Our school gives each one of us one. It was in 7th grade.
when i was 12, my dad had a really old one and he gave it to me and my 14 year old sister to share then his mate from work had another really old one which was completely blank so my dad rebuilt it and out stuff on it and we had one each….. then i got bought my first new laptop when i was 14, last xmas.
I was 10. dell inspiron 1501. still use it sometimes till this day!
I bugged him for over a year because normally I’d have to use this ooolldd pc from 1999 which our neighbour gave us, but then we had a 2004 pc, but i wasn’t allowed to use it. so, when I turned 10, I was ssooooo happy, I got a laptop! its kinda slow at times but good enough for what I do. Although now I have a gaming pc.

I turn 18 in a few months and still don’t have my own computer. I probably won’t either until it’s time for college.
12 or 13
I got my own when I was eleven. My parents were very trustworthy and they already knew what I liked to do online, anyways. I got an actual laptop on my fourteenth birthday, and got a new one on my sixteenth, quite recently.
I got a desktop when I was 11. I was pretty young, but my dad was getting rid of the old one that me and my sister shared, and he knew that we would eventually need our own in a few years (My sister was 13) and he didn’t think it was fair to have us share for a few years then give one of us the old one, so we both just got new desktops. My sister has a macbook now though, and mine keeps getting viruses so I might need a new one soon.
I’m 15 and don’t have one.
We had a family computer from when i was about 9.
