Hi,
Is there a way to surf the internet in Black & White instead of browsing in color, especially on a laptop/Notebook? I personally feel that it would not only be a power/battery Efficient way of surfing but also Lot less straining to the Eyes!
If you click Start > Turn Off Computer and wait for couple of seconds on the background, you will know what I am looking for.
Your input and suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks !!!!
This would Definitely be Less Straining to the Eyes!
Now all i need is a Way to do It!

You can change the display settings to show no color with the control panel. I have heard that it is faster, but doesn’t save power. For some people it could be less eye strain.
I have bad eyes , but those changes do not work for me.
You might also try the accessibility options. I didn’t like those either, but they must work for some people.

Gray scaling instead of color will not make a difference to power. Nor will it necessarily make it easier on the eyes – that depends on the website design.

Depending on your operating system, you may have video display options available to you that will allow you to display only in black and white, but I’d be surprised – I’ve never heard anyone wanting this option before.

Windows Vista and XP have setting that you can adjust — like high contrast. Look under the control Panel under Ease of Access Center (in Vista) or Accessibility Options (XP) to tweak the colors for ease on the eyes.
