I have a Laptop computer wireless, a connection BT Voyager 210 Router and a Netgear Router DG834G what do I make to connect to wireless world wide web? for net use? I have I Pc related to the BT Voyager Router, but I will need to link my new Laptop wireless… can I use the netgear Router? what Have I to do? thank

believe the router you have doubles as a modem, so ditch the bt a single and set it up. the setup wizard will manual you via.

Hi, I have the Netgear DG834G as well. It’s a modem router and being a Netgear will be far better than your BT one.
Just load the software from the netgear cd and plug the router in. Follow on screen instructions to the letter. It should connect to the internet straight away although you may need to know the number your telephone line needs to connect for broadband. For example mine is 1,50
On ADSL setting my VPI would be 1 and my VCI would be 50 as in the 1,50 mentioned above.
Other than that all you need to enter is your broadband log in and password on the basic settings screen. Underneath that make sure that get IP and DNS are set to get automaically from ISP.
To gain access to your router type in 192.168.0.1 in your explorer bar. The netgear login and password are set to admin and password respectively. Don’t forget to change these.
Make sure router is ticked where it says router as dhcp server. This is on LAN set up.
For wireless you may need to add your laptop in wireless settings and then in set up access list. You will need to know the laptop’s mac address. If you don’t know it, plug laptop into the router and then click on attached devices. Your laptops mac address will be shown there along with your pc.
