Question by crimsonbeauty: Can i log on to my work server from home using the IP address of my work computer, with login and password?
I am trying to access the server at work from my laptop at home, because i need to do some work from home and need to access my documents which are saved on my computer at work….any ideas?

you can create a vpn connection but you’ll need permission to do so from your IT department and you’ll need the passsword to get through your works firewall, so without these, no you can’t

As the other poster says it is completely possible – but not without the co-operation of your IT department.
You can’t just use the IP address and connect up.
