With administration he can give you only certain access to certain things like if you are even allowed to install anything. You are the parent, you get the password and you set up the admin rights!

if you are the adminstrator change the password so only you know it and make him a standard user and put parental controls on his user profile or you can montier him personally

go into control panel and click accounts and set your self up as an administrator so you can tell if any thing has been downloaded to the comp

Oh my God!!! You’re the parent!!! Make your son set it up so you are the Administrator and his is a secondary acccount with parental locks. If he doesn’t want to do it, take away his computer privileges. Don’t ask him to do it, tell him to do it.

I think if you interfere with the pc and set yourself up as the admin.you are going to drive a wedge in between you,he will resent you not trusting him and trying to control him.Ask him why he feels the need to do this, has he been doing anything he would be ashamed of,or feel embarrassed about. You could just leave him and trust him to be responsible. When you bought him the pc ,did you set conditions, were you aware of what you were letting him gain access to?

It’s normal to separate accounts on a PC to prevent documents being accidentally deleted and to allow different settings for each user. But if you are worried that he is looking at porn sites, get rid of his admin account, set yourself as the only administrator and give him a limited user account: Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.

Then install a free parental control program to prevent access to adult sites: http://www.k9webprotection.com/
Personally I wouldn’t be too bothered about it if he was over the age of 14; some may disagree, but I don’t seem to have been too morally corrupted by porn myself.

This is now a personal between you and your son, talk to him nicely. Your the Father its good also if you ask him to have also your administrator rights.

If he disagree, ask him who owns the computer and paying the bill? Or you could reformat the computer and make it your own. You had alll the rights. Make him as a power user still he could use the internet but could not instal the program. Still go to sites he wants if you permit him?

Its time also to ask a license from you to have your permission. Is this a right scenario?

Train up a child in the way he should go. God Bless.

n ur sons id frm admin 2 limited type.then restrict the web sites ur son is acessing .this would b a kraking answer fr ur son.

You can get kelogger software and other parental control programs.

But just tell him to take it off and you have the Admin account only or accounts with no passwords.

    Next time pull his plug!

Unless he removed the administrator rights that you probably had on the account you use, you probably have admin rights as well. Most people use an account with admin rights, as bad as that is. Now if he removed the admin rights that you formerly had, then ask him why, and ask what the admin password it, so you can install programs as administrator, etc.

If your the owner of the system just call the company or internet provider and give ID they can remove that password or reset the hole system if you need them to.

you can use safe mode (pressing safe mode key at start up F8) or there are sorry to say you may need to hack it don’t worry it is your system so you can’t get in any rouble unless you use softwere. it is not hard other answers have already told you how. I know because I’ve done this too but he has the main administrator account witch can’t be removed. we both have the same power.
