is this a good option or are ther better pc’s out there in the same price range but with better performance?

This is a good spec machine, at a reasonable price.
However, note that it doesn’t include a monitor.
well it a bit over the top for what you want it for, you could buy a less powerful machine a lot cheaper
have a look at the Dell site as they have a good choice of computers

It’s overpriced and I do NOT like Packard Bell, but the spec is about right for what you want to do.
I’m way ahead of the curve. I’ve got myself a integrated desk with my own colour scheme. It’s a piece of cake to get it upgraded.
Why don’t you go for a Refurbished Desktop as they are really nice and worth the value, moreover they are superb in terms of specifications and prices.
Plus they are reliable and long lasting too.
