as prolonged as both is working, you are secure. you can use the two, no issues. on my pc, there is symantec provided by my ISP as well, but now iam using BitDefender.
Give your solution to this question below!

Take one off – you can get conflict.
McAfee is better. If you have minimum 1GB RAM you can go for Symantec.
Don’t dare to install both as it can render your system unstable.
If you install 2 then you’ll probably find they argue with each other. Stick with one or the other (would recommend McAfee).
I personally love Zone alarm for firewall and Ez antivirus for antivirus because of the bandwidth and security they provide. Norton is a bandwidth eater but real time updated virus list and McAfee you won`t get rid of easy
Neither!!!! – Delete both and install: Nod32 via http://www.eset.co.uk
If both are free for you, use both.
The reason there are so many anti-virus programs out on the market is because each different one detects certain virus’ better and can quarantine them. Having two security systems is fantastic in detecting harmful threats that the first one misses, unless the programs interfere with each other. McAfee and Norton are both great companies, but like above they both detect different threats.
Symantec is good enough.Don’t install two security systems they may conflict and make your system unstable. The rule is also applied to anti-virus software.
i wouldn’t use either remove them both, and download the free zone alarm it far better than all the ones you have to pay for!
I would agree with GVPlayer but before Norton get infected I would remove it if it is install on the computer. If it is just a on-line safety scanner you can use both and benefit from the extra security but you can not have two installed at the same time neither one would even let you because it scan for other anti-viruses before it install the new one for your protection.
The use of 2 or more anti-virus programs at the same time can cause major conflicts. The 2 scanning engines will fight each other to scan every file that you read, write or execute which can cause a major computer slowdown. For the same reason, using 2 A-Vs can cause you to have less protection from the various malware, not more.
(Using an anti-spyware and a firewall with an anti-virus is good, however and is recommended)
You might consider choosing just one A-V and removing any others.
No not really, it really doesnt do any good. And most times they will conflict. Pick one that has the features that you require and install it. There are some programs that do specific things. Like some may just be scanning emails etc, and the other may protecting your machine against viruses. If you pick something that is specific you may then have 2 systems. But usually people either go with Norton or McAfee, which do the same thing and have a lot of features built in.
Beware Norton is a System hog.
Your ISP security is probably the best to go with as it is free.
Personal preference though, its what kind of protection you want.
most commercial virus protectors protect you against the same threats.
What you need is
1. A Decent firewall
2. A Decent Virus protector, that scans incoming files including emails
Both the products you mention do this but if you install them both at the same time you will find neither will guarantee to protect you. and there is a likelihood that they may not work together as well as slow your PC down to a crawl.
I suggest you look at the packaging, decide which is the best offer for you and decide on one.
A lot of people like one virus protector over another all for good reasons, but your first decision should be protect yourself and if you find you don’t like it, then change at a later date.

Never use two AV or firewalls, as this can cause you lots of problems. As well as using twice as much resources.
Use whichever software you feel more comfortable with.
