Question by stevenburky: Why cant my new laptop hook up to the bloody wireless internet?
Ok – this gets kinda complicated so retain up
I have just lately received a brand name new large stop Toshiba laptop to change my ageing dell inspiron. Nonetheless I am stealing wireless internet from somwhere in Sydney and although my outdated busted laptop computer (xp) can link my new laptop cant (vista)

I have attempted disabling the firewall and transforming the environment but practically nothing performs.

The network in question is an unsecured network but I have been utilizing it for months on my aged laptop. The new notebook statements that it can hook up to the wireless network but cant link to the world wide web.

When i try to diagnose the issue the pc tells me that it might be a issue with the network router but how can that be if the previous laptop computer connects. I know my new laptop can connect to wireless web as I have carried out so ahead of with a diverse network.

This may possibly be irrelevant but how can I check out what network adaptors are on each computer systems so I can examine

Please support!!!!
Cheers
Steve

Stupid question but have you enabled the wireless function on new laptop?

after you have confirmed that your Wireless capabilities is activated,

go under Control Panel, Network Connections, Create A New Connection. put down the name of the network you’re using.

this is if you’re using Windows.

    Hope this helps, peace.

Hey, I have the same problem before but using my own internet connection.

Try disconnecting it and go to the internet. After you log onto the internet, sign in to your internet connection by press “Internet Network” on the Start menu. Then refresh your internet page again.

It worked out for me [Vista], hope it works out for you

I dont know if this is relevant but iv’e got two OS on the same comp.
I think they are using the G bytes in the memory of the comp to relay all we DO … I use Vista and can compare the “updates” from XP to vista.
They say that the drivers aren’t ready for Vista yey.. but they are…. you been plugged in???
