Question by Dee: Why is my computer screen going fuzzy and then back to normal?
My computer screen (a flat screen) has always been great, up until now. Recently, it began changing the background colours by itself and then returning to normal. Now, it is starting to make words appear as if in double, and lines will appear all over the screen before returning to normal. How can I find out what is wrong and how can I find out what is running in the background when this happens? Thank you!

before doing anything else, check the power cord. see if it is attached firmly and maybe try another one

make sure all cables attached to it are firmly plugged in at both ends and see what other electronic equipment is running at the same time (could be trickier if you arer in an office)

maybe its time for you to save some money and buy a new flat screen monitor….coz normally people say that replacing the monitor with a new one is better than repairing the old damage one….

I think its dying. That sounds exactly like what my dad’s monitor did before he had to buy a new one. If you have Windows XP and you want to know what programs/processes are running press Ctrl+Alt+Del…this brings up the Task Manager.

There’s a way that might fix that issue..
In the menu of your monitor ( not the one in control panel ) is a picture of magnet which is crossed in round circle. Select it and your monitor might go back to normal…
This changing the of background colours by itself and then returning to normal could be the cause of magnetism or electricity. This option is for demagnetizing.

You can find out by task manager what’s running when this happens ( CTRL+ALT+DEL ).

Next if you have too many cables around the monitor especially of the lamp, it may cause similar problems. Just put them away of the monitor, and it should be fine.

    Hope this helped.

Before you go and spend your hard earned money on a new monitor, make sure ALL the plugs are in tight, and that the terminal ends are clean. Copper gets dirty, and oxidizes, thus not making a clean contact. Also, make sure all cables are not bent to tight, as you could easily fray the insides of a cable by doing that. Have you got a friends pc or laptop, who you can plug into to make sure???
    Good luck…
