Computer hardware will only use the power that it needs. If you’ve got a power supply with 850 watts available and your system is only using 350 watts, then the other 500 watts is not really used.

each component has a plug and the power supply has the correct powered plug for them. if you killed something in all probably you plugged it up with power on,don’t ever do that.
