Is do you know how click on my computer icon and if so you need right click the hard drive and look up properties. it will tell you how big of the hard drive what format you are using and how much you use and how much free you got and tell you are you compressing and indexing the hard drive let you know those two things will slow down your computer down.

I’m assuming you mean drive space. 149GB is more than enough for most users. A very easy way to see how much space you have on your drive is to open “My Computer” and right click the disk icon (C:, may be called Local Disk, or something else, etc) and click on the Properties option. This window will tell you how much space you have, how much is used, and how much is free.

    Go to start-control panel-system,halfway down it’ll tell you how much memory(RAM) you have-mine says 2GB even though I know I have 3GB

149GB is probally more than you will ever need, unless your downloading like full legenth movies… to see how much Hard drive space your HD has go to Start – My Computer – and the right click on your Hard Drive and seclect Properties… you should see a nice little graph there too

149GB of memory is A LOT.
Bearing in mind super gaming machines have 8GB as the standard.

Or do you mean storage space on your hard drive? If so open up My Computer, right click your ‘Local Disk’ or the name of your hard drive and right click it.

check for ram in the system information which is in the start menu under accessories/system tools.
To check hard drive space, go in my computer and right click the hard drive and choose properties.
Oh, and 149 GB is a lot of space.

It is a reasonable amount in my opinion. You can get 500GB hard drives but that is just a silly amount I think as I have lots of games and music and pictures on my desktop PC and it is 160 GB. I think 149GB will be fine. To find out how much memory your computer has go to my computer and left click the C-Drive once and on the details bit down the left hand side it will tell you. Good luck!

There isn’t a desktop computer that supports 149GB of memory (RAM).

If you mean hard drive space then it’s quite a bit of space. The biggest drives on the market right now are 1000GB.

YES! unless you have like gigs and gigs of memory

Computer have 2 different things that people call MEMORY, which are measured in GB’s.

First is RAM, which are chips in your computer. This is like the brain memory. This is likely to be 1 – 4 GB.

Second is the HARD DRIVE STORAGE SPACE. This is the amt of storage space you have – kind of like a filing cabinet. This is likely to be 20-500 GB.

If you want to find out how much RAM you have, RIGHT CLICK on MY COMPUTER and choose PROPERTIES.

If you want to find out how much storage space you have on your hard drive, DOUBLE CLICK on MY COMPUTER and look at the info for you C: drive.

    HTH!

First of all, you’re probably talking about hard disk space, not memory. Memory is used to make your computer run more smoothly and allows it to run more applications at a time. Hard disk space is used only for storage. Since 149GB is an ungodly gigantic amount of memory, I’d bet you’re talking about hard drive space instead.

Yes, 149GB of hard drive space is a pretty large amount. A meduim-quality movie takes about 1GB of space, and modern PC games take about 5GB of space. To find out how much you have, double click on My Computer, right click on your hard drive (probably C:) and go to Properties.

As a side note, to find out how much memory you have, right click on My Computer and go to properties. The amount of RAM listed is your memory.

    149GB Hard drive or 149GB RAM!!! ??

149GB Hard drive is ok for todays standards. Though it is up to you how much you want to download and store.

149GB RAM!!! Welcome to year 3008!

it is quite a good amount for a hard drive yes, but remember, if you’re running vista then that’ll take up a good chunk of it

My desktop computer has 77GB hard drive space, I have loads of heavy programs, music, images and videos and I still have 15GB free space. I’m comfortable with it. I also use WinRar which makes me save a lot of space and I clean up my computer from trash about once a month (but you don’t necessarily have to do these two things). To check out you disk space go to “My Computer”, right click “Local Disk” or whatever your hard disk is called (mines called “Local Disk (C:)”) and click “Properties”. You will have a pie chart showing you how much space is available, occupied and the overall capacity of your PC. Hope I’ve been useful! Mc837

That is hard drive space *NOT* memory. Memory is known as RAM (Random Access Memory) hard drive space is storage space (think of it as a large filiing cabinet).

As to where you’d find it, I wouldn’t know as I don’t know what type of computer you have.

you’re looking at hard drive space 149GB is a fair bit it depends what you save on it, if like me you save lots of music videos and pictures then 149GB will fill up quickly but for normal use 149GB is plenty

as for the RAM 256MB is fairly low really its not enough for Vista and its the minimum for XP, none of the latest games will run well on 256MB but thats the memory of your PC stuff is only stored in RAM while the PC is on and its for running programs while hard disks are a long term storage and can also be used to run programs
