I would have women on staff to help women customers. As a woman who frequently shops in hardware stores I find that I am “talked down to” way too often. I hate being treated like I’m not smart, just because I’m female. I also like to find things myself (since to ask is often to be abused), so a store directory at the front of the store is really helpful.
