I have a fairly new LCD HP desktop monitor and am looking to buy just the computer tower to go with it. I am also not sure about which brands are compatible with my monitor or if only HP brand computers will work with it. Does anybody know any good websites where I can get one?

Any computer will work with any monitor. I’ve had good experiences with http://www.directron.com/ – nice people to work with, knowledgeable and the prices are good. And they stand behind what they sell. Tell them what you need (what you’re going to use the computer for, and what you’d like to be able to do in the future) and how much you want to spend, and they’ll match you up with something you’ll be happy with.
YOu can get any tower pretty much and it will go with that monitor. I perosnally like HP, they sem to have the best value ,although dell had some pretty good deals latly. I would avoid places like Tigerdirect. posted above. They are great sites for the intermediate user, but it sounds to me like you could benefit from the added support that a company like HP can offer you.
