It’s IE7 I’m having problems with and I’ve noticed it’s only after security updates KB9729969 an KB931768 that I can’t get into the internet. I’ve looked in the Windows website and it’s going to cost me £40 to get any help. The only solution I can think of is going back to IE6 again.

I also had problems with ie7 and uninstalled it .

install hijackthis, run a check and send the log file to a tech help forum. they will tell you exactly how to fix it.
theyve fixed a few viruses for me recently. theyre great. just type pc forum help in google.
Actually with Microsoft Updates, there is no charge when there are problems arising from installing security patches.

However, if you are sure it is the result of one or the other patch, you can try to uninstall each, reboot, then see if you are still experiencing problems.

go to control panel, add remove programs, show updates, click IE7 and uninstall……
Go with romeo’s suggestion too. Hijackthis is ACE!
Even if you follow the other advice, hijackthis is a great little thing & zaps all the baddies
So does spybot search & destroy. And I Have AVG free from download.com that runs updates etc and has never affected laptop!
