Wait till you get your cable connection. Verify what kind of individual firewall and antivirus they offer. If they are ample, you can just obtain no cost edition of AVG or Kasparsky or whatever and you must be Ok with no getting anything at all.

Go either for Zone Alarm, Or Comodo free versions

During first 15 days u need to train them properly so that they will provide u better security and will not cause any havocs for u.

internet security for your network or for your computer if it is for your network it is fine or else you have to choose between mcafee and your cable internet security. If you choose to have mcafee go ahead and buy 1 year.but i wont recommand mcafee. Please buy others like Kaspersky internet security or ESET Smart Security as i have try them and it is very useful at protecting and removing.

It’s not advisable to have two AVs running together. When you get connected you have a choice to make.

Either take off McAfee which is only a trial version anyway and put Virgin’s PC Guard on straight away or wait till McAfee runs out and then install PC Guard. Makes very little difference what you do. PC Guard however does come with it’s own firewall.

However I think you would get better support from PC Guard, but that is just my opinion. I have used it in the past when Comtel first brought it out and I would say it’s as good as any other. [Comtel was the fore runner to NTL and then Virgin]

It isn’t ideal to have two running at once. If Virgin are going to include one internet security package, I would uninstall your current McAfee and install their version fresh and new.

It works as if it’s two untamed dogs. If you have them run together, they just turn and attack each other.

    Thanks
