Question by ra88ie: How do I get rid of a security tool?
I have a security tool attached to my computer.
Everytime I turn the comp on it wants to scan, when I open certain programs to try and delete or remove it blocks me.
I have norton 360 and its failing to remove it, it doesnt even find it, I have a few other spyware adware removal programs but none are finding it.
I picked this pest up browsing for credit cards.
I cant install nothing, I cant restore my comp to a previous date, no matter what I try to access to rid this it keeps blocking me and its full of pop up asking to buy.
I cant find it in program files and it is on my program menu but no uninstall option.
Please help me.

Norton 360 isn’t Symantec’s finest hour…
Can you restart the computer in safe mode and then install Malwarebytes? (http://www.malwarebytes.org or download from CNET http://www.cnet.com – search for Malwarebytes)
Restarting in safe mode prevents most malware from running on startup, malwarebytes should then be able to kill it off. Run a full Malwarebytes scan.

Rogue SpyWare is what you have. Download malwarebyes or another antivirus and remove it. If Norton cannot detect such an easy thing like that dont use norton. I use kaspersky and have been for 3 years, all virus I have gotten have been removed pronto.
If you can still access “Safe Mode with networking” by tapping f8 on your computer’s boot up, I would do that.
If you can access safe mode, then you are almost done. Then download (download from download.com), run, and update Malwarebytes and quarantine any infected objects. Malwarebytes is an on-demand scanner, so it will not conflict with any real time anti-virus.
If that was successful, I would restart windows normally and install “SuperAntispyware” (again, downlowd from download.com). It is an on demand scanner, like malwarebytes. After that, update the definitions and do a scan.
Then uninstall Norton and install Avira.
EVERYTHING BELOW IS ONLY IF YOU COULDN’T ENTER SAFE MODE.
If you can not enter safe mode, go on another computer and burn the “Avira Rescue System” from http://www.avira.com/en/support-download-avira-antivir-rescue-system
Put the CD in the infected computer and restart. the computer should start up on the live CD that you created. Change the language to english, set the CD to rename the extension for all infected files and run the CD.
After that, take out the CD and restart normally, run and install Malwarebytes, superantispyware, and uninstall Norton and replace it with Avira.
Type in Run :
msconfig->services search for it nd then uncheck the box
or
services.msc search for it nd disable it
u can afterwards install
bitdefender is The Best !!!
http://katz.cd/download/6799557/Software/BitDefender-Total-Security-2011
nd all in katz.cd search for Revo Uninstaller
Security tool infect user account only (usually), so system restore does not always help.
Try this :
1. Reboot, after reboot while you are beeing logged in start hitting ctrl+shift+esc. This will launch task manager
2. Stop all numerical processes, eg 52523522 and write down their names
3. Search hard disk for these files and delete
4. Download and scan your PC with spyware doctor or malwarebytes to make sure you got everything out.
