You need a spyware program such as SuperAntiSpyware & activate a pop up blocker

On your Internet explorer bar, select ‘tools’ then ‘pop up blocker’. I set mine to medium and get no pop ups

You’re likely using internet explorer 6?

Try getting firefox for a start, it should block most if not all of the popups (www.getfirefox.com).

If you want to go the extra mile get adblock plus once you install firefox. It will even block annoying banner ads like the buzzing mosquito crap:

You can ensure that IE’s pop-up blocker is enabled in the preferences. Such as Tools > Pop-up Blocker
or Tools > Internet Options > Privacy > pop-up blocker

I would also suggest you invest in a proper security SUITE (antivirus, firewall, antispyware, etc) from a RELIABLE vendor (like mcafee or norton) and ensure it is properly configured and kept completely up to date.. then run a complete scan.

AVG is a terrible program despite the many pundits who attempt to sucker people into using it. As a security professional no real technical expert would ever recommend a freeware solution like that especially one with such a poor rate of detection.

    Good Luck

If you are using Internet Explorer (IE), you will see a little eye icon at the bottom of your IE window. Double click on it and then click on ‘settings’ and then click on, ‘turn on pop-up blocker’.

Put block pop ups on.If you have Firefox go to add ons(in tools)
and put Adblock on.You have let something on.Run your AVG
after you tick remove tracking cookies in shield.Try Ad-Aware

Type in ad-aware onto google. This will take you to a website for a free download. Have had same problem myself and this cleared it up in no time. May want to also do a free download of CCleaner, this eliminates most harmful cookies and frees up no end of memory space.
