I am a SAHM. I often feed my baby while browsing yahoo answers, or while my kids are napping. It is “recreational” and fun for me.

Up until about 2 months ago, I used my computer at work to get on Answers, when I had some free time. Since then, I work at home (and quite profitably), ON the computer most of the time, and get on Answers when I can.

Are you a mom or on welfare? I’m certainly not. Yahoo Answers can be used from anywhere, and yes, probably 80% of businesses or more have computers in the office.

I am at work, although it is very quiet in here today, no boss, no work, nothing to do but answer the phone or talk to people who come in asking questions. I think there are lots of different reasons people are on here that have nothing to do with stay at home moms or welfare people.

Most offices have computers as it is cheaper and more manageable to keep records on computers. Computers at offices are intended mainly for work-related matters.
Your boss can easily catch you doing something else when you’re suppsed to be doing work with your PC because there ia a so called mother PC that controls the activitites of other PCs around the office.
I am here at wotk and with my office PC. We are permitted to use the office’s internet during our lunch breaks.
So, does this resolve your theory? Of course you can safely say that even people at work participate in Yahoo answers, as they also want to enhance their problem-solving abilities. Yahoo answers is a good venue to practice such skill.

First off, you’re not a young boy. I am at home right now, unemployed and searching for a job,……….no, not on Yahoo answers, but on the Internet and in need of a break between searches and cover letter writing.
If in fact your mom did say this, I don’t want to make her look bad in your eyes, but the fact is, it’s an unfair statement. On the other hand, you shouldn’t get the idea that it’s ok to spend your company’s time and money surfing the web and earning answer points while you earn a paycheck. That’s actually considered “theft of time” at most companies,…………eh hem!

I’m CEO of a multimillion dollar company and at present we are undergoing a major merger/acquisition. My leadership is an invaluable asset to the success of this transition. However, I always take plenty of work breaks to answer Yahoo questions for very, young boys eager to test their theories–like you!
I can answer that with a completely true and honest answer. Yes people do have computers at work. A LOT OF PEOPLE have computers at work and do have some free time to answer questions. I am a secretary at a high school and end up having a lot of free time and get bored and come here to do this. Plus, why would only people on welfare do this?? That is a stupid and harsh remark. What about kids who are out of school for the day sick? Or people who aren’t at work because they are sick? What about kids who are homeschooled? It’s just a rude and judgemental comment to make. It makes your mother sound un-intelligent.

For a “very young boy,” your grammar and spelling are impeccable. If your mom is as lame/lazy/nuts as you say she is (in other questions you’ve posted), you must have one hell of a tutor. Either that or you reside in an area with a great school system.
