Question by The Blade: Is there a way to install my printer onto my laptop having lost my disc?
The printer is a Canon Pixma iP2600…. I have basically lost the disc and need to install it to my laptop. Is there anything I can install or do online that can help install the printer? Thanks
Ok thanks, I did try just plugging it in too, but it requests the CD! I already went on the support site I didnt know what thing to download, but thanks for the help, I guess it is “Drivers” thanks

Of course.

Your printer should have a model number on it, for example “Epson ip1800″.

Just do a google search for something called DRIVERS, that’s the software on the CDs that comes with printers.

So you will google something like “Epson ip1800 DRIVER” and you will find it.

Just install the software and then plug in the printer, and it will work.

Yes, you can almost always download the drivers from the manufacturer’s website. Check out Canon’s support website to find what you need.

Go to the Canon website and download the specific driver for your printer. They provide driver download for free along with some simple programs to match your printer

Go to the canon website and look for a page about Drivers. Then look for the printer model that you have and it should have the file to install the program on your computer.

That’s what I had to do for my old printer and it worked.

If it is a common enough printer, try just plugging it in. Windows installs drivers for an amazing number of things (including printers) without any outside help.

If that doesn’t work, go here:

In many cases a simple visit to Canon’s web site can fix the problem and download the drivers for your printer

Printer drivers for all their printers are available for download at the Canon website.
